Composting in the Cafeteria Starts on MONDAY!

This has been a big week.

This is the 'before' picture.
We are preparing to start composting next week.

On Monday and Tuesday we had three assemblies, to teach the whole school about composting at lunch time.

On Wednesday, the parent members of the SGET went to the PTA meeting to tell all the parents about the new composting program.

On Thursday a flyer went out in backpacks to parents, especially for the ones who couldn't make it to the PTA meeting.

On Friday each student member of the SGET went into the classroom for which they are responsible, and taught the class how to sort their garbage at lunch time.

We also made posters and hung them up in the cafeteria and around the school.

In addition to parent members of the Super Green Eco Team, other parents have volunteered to help during lunch, all next week.

Our First Meeting

The 2011-2012 Super Green Eco Team met for the first time last Friday afternoon. There are more 4th and 5th graders than ever before! Our goals for this year include educating the whole school about composting, recycling, and other ways to help make the world a cleaner place.
