We have a new addition to the "composting set up."

The SGET Bulletin Board Is Up

Located in the cafeteria, between the nurses office and the water fountains, is the Super Green Eco Team bulletin board.  Right now you can find out who is on the SGET, which class each student will inspect, what projects we are working on, when meetings are held, and general information about the SGET.

Stop by and check it out!

Kent Makes Composting Possible!

A fifth grade member of the Super Green Eco Team thanks Kent, from SchoolFood, for all his hard work.

Kent is the cornerstone of the food composting project, without him we couldn't do it.   Everyday Kent puts compostable bags in the green plastic cans and at the end of each day, when they are filled with food, paper, and trays he takes them out to be picked up and composted.

THANK YOU KENT!

Composting in the Cafeteria Starts on MONDAY!

This has been a big week.

This is the 'before' picture.
We are preparing to start composting next week.

On Monday and Tuesday we had three assemblies, to teach the whole school about composting at lunch time.

On Wednesday, the parent members of the SGET went to the PTA meeting to tell all the parents about the new composting program.

On Thursday a flyer went out in backpacks to parents, especially for the ones who couldn't make it to the PTA meeting.

On Friday each student member of the SGET went into the classroom for which they are responsible, and taught the class how to sort their garbage at lunch time.

We also made posters and hung them up in the cafeteria and around the school.

In addition to parent members of the Super Green Eco Team, other parents have volunteered to help during lunch, all next week.
